Gameplay on rook

This wiki page will explain the differences between mainland and rookgaard and why it's so appealing to some players.

Progression

In Main land Progression is a lot faster then rookgaard because of this many players tend to avoid rook all together, However to some players this feels way more rewarding to them. Rookgaard has smaller hunting zones more punishing creatures and close to no aoe damage to mass farm xp like main. Reaching end game is way slower but more rewarding to a player in rook to some. Unlike mainland you are not locked to a certain weapon type as you have no vocation Because of this you can change your game play whenever you wish to however training is slower. Rook Training This page will explain the benefits of each weapon type/play style and how to train in rook

Death

Rookgaard has a different death system then mainland, You still lose xp and skills however you do not drop your armor or backpack. This makes keeping the slow progression you made making setbacks less punishing to players. While in mainland you drop your backpack and gear. This allows players to play with a more risky style of play allowing for a more causal exploration. Additionally allows players that are busy with other things in real life. Work family ect to play without worrying what little time they have to play just was wasted.

Exploration

Because rook is almost 1/10th the side of mainland this makes exploring a lot easier and faster to do allowing you to find secrets at a greater rate while also getting benefit of getting to hunting spots a lot faster using less time of travel. This also appeals to players that are more casual and doesn't plan to spend hours on end each day just to get to a hunting spot and back.

Supplies

This isn't much different from Mainland. This will just be different items that you spend time getting. In mainland you will focus on making runes.arrows,bolts. In rook your main focus will be fishing, Arrows (if you use dist) Fishing in rook is a important feature in early game as you require some way to heal. If you are unsure how to fish check out fishing for more infmation.

Why play rook?

Rook players tend to be more calm and wish to enjoy a slower less punishing but more rewarding feel to tibia. Additionally unlike mainland it's not pvp so rook players don't have to worry as much about player combat blessings ect. rook players can simply play how they want when they want where ever they want while getting fantastic help from other rook players. So if your just starting tibia and wish for a more calm less time consuming gameplay Rook is a great place to learn tibia.
